Default Decent Healing Build For Monk Hero?

I've never played as a monk before so I basically have no idea what skills are good to use and which aren't & considering there's so many, I don't know where to start at all.

I just got Dunkoro from Nightfall & want to give him a decent healing build preferably centered around [skill]word of healing[/skill].

I know his attributes should be full divine favor & full healing as I want to make him pure healing, no protection (I'm saving that for Tahlkora).

I don't want him to run out of energy or to have any unnecessary skills on his skill bar, so I'd appreciate any help I can get with this.

Thanks a lot.

Oh & I have Prophecies, Factions & Nightfall.

No, they shouldn't.

A full healer bar is inefficient and pointless... Why do in 8 skills what you can do in 2? There's no good reason not to throw some prot on there.

Current bar i'm running on one of my monks...

[skill]word of healing[/skill][skill]dwayna's kiss[/skill][skill]dismiss condition[/skill][skill]guardian[/skill][skill]shield of absorption[/skill][skill]protective spirit[/skill][skill]glyph of lesser energy[/skill] then a Hex removal spell, probably [skill]remove hex[/skill] if you don't have EotN

12 Healing, a minor rune on the head if you can be bothered
Rest split between Prot/Divine, 9/9 or 10/8

And yes, people will argue Heroes suck at Prot.
So? All the healing is handled by Kiss and Word, you might as well run decent skills for the rest of the bar instead of trash like Breeze and hope the Hero gets lucky with PS.

What do you mean by PS? Also, no res?

Thanks.

PS = Protective Spirit

Monks should never have a rez. A monk using a rez is a monk that is not monking. Leave the ressing to the midline characters, and let the monks keep you alive while you rez.

Protective Spirit. [skill]protective spirit[/skill] Stops squishies blowing up when being hit by 300 damage Ele bosses.

Why bother? Monk bars are already very tight; they need to be flexible to deal with a variety of situations.

And if someone dies, I'd rather have my monk concentrating on keeping people alive, than stopping to waste a few seconds ressing. Chances are, someone else will die while the monk's busy ressing.

Stick Death Pact Signet or Flesh of my Flesh on another caster, so nothing distracts the monk from keeping people alive.

mine arent. of course i play dervish main, so its not possible for them to be bad with RoF, and heroes with Signet of recall and chanelling is comparable in energy regen to a SaBway necro.

Hero monks take:
WoH
Dwayna's
Cure Hex
Dismiss/Mend Condition
Res
Empty/Mes emgt
Empty/Mes emgt
Empty/Mes emgt

In this case, taking a full skillbar is counterproductive. More skills means they waste time and energy casting things they shouldn't be casting.

N/Rts are +42e every 15 seconds for no cost. I don't see how Sig of Recall (4e every 20s?) or Channeling are comparable.

Seriously.

I usually get +13 when they use it.

Anyway to the OP, I'd not suggest running pure healing since it isn't effective.

The most effective bar includes WoH + Dwayna's kiss + Cure hex + prots like shield of absorption/Guardian (things that don't scale that much with prot).

Heros use Guardian, Spirit Bond, Shield of absorption well. Rest they pretty much suck at.

O.K. so you can all laff but my primary is a Monk and this bar works really good on my Dunkoro: Healer's Boon, Signet of Rejuvenation, Ethereal Light (doesn't get interrupted because with HB its a 1/2 sec cast), Heal Party, yes Orison of Healing, yes Healing Breeze (he does not overuse it maybe because it is in slot 6), Remove Hex (8 sec recharge) and Restore Life (cause with HB he can rez in 3 sec's with 62% Health and 87% energy). He runs with a Golden Boar Scepter and an Incetol's Focus (+17e, H+30,HCT 20%,HRT 20%) 14HP, 3Prot, 13DF. Energy Ruins and Superior vigor. Health 560 Energy 59. He does not have energy management problems and he rocks.

[skill]Word of Healing[/skill][skill]Dwayna's Kiss[/skill][skill]Signet of Rejuvenation[/skill][skill]Dismiss Condition[/skill][skill]Cure Hex[/skill][skill]Shield of Absorption[/skill][skill]Aegis[/skill][skill]Resurrection Chant[/skill]

Heal: 12+1+1
Prot: 9+1
DF: 9+1

Equipment: Hale Healing Staff of Enchanting (20/20, +30HP, 20% enchantments)
Variants:
- Mend Condition over Dismiss Condition if the second monk has a condition remover
- Swap out Resurrection Chant for rez of choice

Simple as that.

Heroes suck with RoF, Prot Spirit, Spirit Bond, Guardian, and just about any other prot spells you can name, so don't even bother considering any additional prot spells. Even Shield of Absorption is a bit of a stretch for hero monks, but it's just too damn valuable in focus fire situations to drop it. Aegis is really the only prot spell I come even remotely close to trusting them with.

EDIT: also, just to clarify: HUMAN monks should never carry a rez, but it's always a good idea to carry a rez skill on all heroes, including monks. In the case of a hero monk, keep it red-barred.

Guardian they use after a few hits so it isn't that bad. RoF they basically spam on recharge.

Prot Spirit/Spirit Bond doesn't get used as preprot, it gets used as after you get hit.

ZB isn't as viable on monk heros since they use it as Heal Other (they don't care if you're >50% HP).

If the bar is for a hero, then Prot spirit should be glued there. There's nothing as great as being in control of your big prots. Preventing damage before it lands can save your team from a wipe. If you don't like how the heroes spam it for the wrong reasons, DISABLE IT just like how you'd disable a hard res. It's one of the benefits of CHOOSING your hero's bar, ya know. It's not too hard to click the little button to pre-prot the guy who rambos in.

Grammar has the same bar that I use for my monk. Except I'd stick in prot spirit instead of dwayna's kiss.

For a hero healer I'd suggest:

Either WoH or ELight + HBoon
DKiss
Sig of Rejuv
often someone's got to have Heal Party, but the hero AI is not the best choice for the job if you can help it.

Beyond that, fill in with removal, prot, and maybe a rez as you see fit.
